Mod made itself known at Bank Holiday, when the numerous kids took to seaside towns and beat up any stray rockers. In 1966 a new breed of smarter mod emerged, wearing very sharp suits and very short hair. Hard mods they would be called. Three years later the world knew as skinheads. Then came the revivals which keep Mod as strong as strong today as it ever was. Of all the youth cults in Britain that has endured the longest.
